listened to ten stories the other night and thought 'meh'. has nothing on this and most of their other albums (a b life hasn't aged as well as i'd hoped)

I used to feel that way about Ten Stories but now I love it, especially after listening to the album with lyric sheet. This is pretty much my favorite album ever tho, band is incredible.

Really solid record. Still a few songwriting hurdles to be overcome before reaching Brother Sister/It's All Crazy! levels, but consistently solid with a few great tracks.

everyone i talk to says 'it's good, but brother, sister...' so frustrating lol. that album is amazing too but apparently it casts a huge shadow over this

I mean, I just don't think it's gonna happen for me. I like it a lot, but, like I said, I think there are some leaps they made songwriting-wise between this and Brother, Sister. They do bring the emotion hard on this album though.

Same, Richard Mazzotta is one of my favorite drummers. He was pretty much our biggest influence while were writing our sludge metal album

Mmmm January 1979 hits the spot man. Hadn't heard it in years before the other day when I remembered this band. Desperately need to listen to a full album since I always get recommended them for liking Brand New so much. Not sure that's a good recommendation though, any similarities?

Been jamming this so hard lately and it only gets better. I never get sick of it. I fucking love how quirky everything is and the groovy basslines and the great production. Definitely has become an all-time favorite.
