I know this band is considered to be post-rock (it's where the term originated, after all), and I won't disagree with that - but with this album in particular, I have no problem lumping it in with trip-hop/downtempo. Very sinister and moody stuff, along with being pretty much perfect. I love every song on here.
This album sounds like a companion piece to the Silent Hill 4 soundtrack. The mix on the drums, in particular, is nearly identical.

Can't help the feeling that the opener here heavily inspired the vocal melody in Slowdive's "Falling Ashes". Both tracks are extraordinary.
