First off I like every single Rise Against album. My favourite is The Unraveling but I also love the other 3.
Anyway, I'm surprised no one knows that Hero Of War's lyrics are actually taken from interviews with some of the soldiers hence how colloquial they are. It's not that Tim has written the verses that lame. That is why the song is even more powerful.
Like most others, I got tired of the similar singing style though. Although it's clear Tim's voice has improved dramatically in the means of range and hitting notes, I miss the potency and raspiness that came from his scream.
I still think musically they are great. Some songs could be a lot faster and heavier. I think it's weird how people can say they always sound the same. This sounds nothing like the other albums. Anyway, my favourite songs so far are: Collapse, Kotov Syndrome, Entertainment, From Heads Unworthy, Savior and Whereabouts Unknown. Whereabouts Unknown wins due to classic Rise Against, hard quitar riff, the breakdown and the scream - perfect. The Dirt Whispered and Hairline Fracture really suck for Rise Against. This Message Edited On 10.31.08

This album didn't had the staying power that most Rise Against has, especially Sufferer. Years later I still listen to Sufferer constantly, same with Siren Songs, but I can't see myself doing it with this one. I'll play it once in a long while, but not constantly... with the exception of a few songs like Savior and Whereabouts Unknown.
