This CD reminds me of Disturbed's indestructible as it doesn't have any really bad songs for me, but it doesn't have any really great songs either. All Rise Against's other albums had more variety, I think they made this release slightly too melodic. Review was good, I feel pretty much the same way.

This is pretty disappointing. At times it sounds like it could be really good, but it's lacking something.

after listening to this a few times, its not bad, but his vox over the whole album just seem to be mediocre to me.
They sound really dry and have no passion behind them or anything.
still i got some enjoyment out of the album.

I'd love to know where the band that released Revolutions Per Minute is, and who these toothless pop-punk imposters are replacing them. I mean it sounds like pretty much every Rise Against album ever only not as good. Plenty of punk bands do the same thing but at least add new, interesting elements into the mix, whereas Rise Against just add more and more pop melodies and sacrifice all the intensity that goes hand-in-hand with their genre. I mean shit is it that hard to write a beat that isn't in 4/4, a song with more than five chords, and lyrics that aren't always some mediocre political slogan?

I've yet to hear this, but Rise Against is a very consistent band so I should like this if is anything close to The Sufferer and the Witness. Also, there is some thruth in Strizz comment.
Pretty good review. Voted

Yeah but they're still great even though they haven't been punk in forever

I love people who come into RA now looking for a punk band.

You're right about Savior. Whereabouts is good, but not up to par with songs like Rumors of My Demise, Survive, and The Good Left Undone. I look forward to your review.

"Savior" and "Whereabouts Unknown" are the best thing these guys have ever done.

I could see your point on The Unraveling, but I'm with pretty much everyone else in thinking that RPM is awesome. Siren Song was a really good major label debut for them. I think it has to do with what you heard first.

It's true. There's a lot "I am.." and "We are..." type stuff on this too. Like...too much.

TSTW was the only album i heard from these guys, and i reckon it was one of the only modern punk albums i actually enjoyed in its entirety. so i go siren song and i must say i was dissapointed. Its been hailed as a classic but it had way too much screamo for me
what do you reckon? would i like Appeal to Reason? or should i just stay with sufferer. (Its rather annoying coz i really wanna get into this band)

Siren Song is their best record to me.
I really enjoyed Appeal, though; this is a solid release.
