Yes, I used to listen to it regularly too. Never grew tired of it.

Renacer has grown off me a bit honestly. I only really like the title track, Holy Mountain, and Ancient Tombs nowadays. Though I still think all the songs are pretty solid.
Anyways if you think this record is bad listen with my bonus track listing and and see if you don't enjoy it a lot more. I think the biggest problem with this record is that is it needs some faster songs in its latter half, it's too top-heavy in that regard.

I dig all Senses Fail very much apart from the last one and this. Been a fan since '06.

Well I definitely agree that the latest one is their weakest album. Lyrical quality dropped hard and talk about some nothing burger guitar work...

been like 8 or something years since I last jammed the t/t and don't remember it being as good, I think my only gripe with this record is the weak instrumentation on the last track and all the recycled riffs from SS here and there

Yeah, this was a major disappointment to me, considering Still Searching and Let It Enfold You were among my first post-hardcore albums ever

Garden State totally should've been a single. Probably my favorite SF song honestly.

Garden State is one of my fave SF in general, too
And yeah, I think it would have been a much better single than... Family Tradition, if I remember right

I think it would be a better single, but I think Family Tradition is a better song

I've been on a kick with this record recently. I think I might just 5 it, after all it's definitely stood the test of time for me since I heard it near the time it released. I also love the production here - everything sounds so crisp, clean and full. However it does have one flaw in that the bass is nearly inaudible.
Putting Lungs Like Gallows right after Fireworks at Dawn is a genius move by the way. Always loved that transition.
You know what, I'm gonna 5 it, if I "include" the bonus tracks I think it's definitely justified.

What the fuuuuuck
I just found out there are two more non-album tracks released with this line-up:
The Past is Proof (2008, Punisher soundtrack)
The Martyr (2009, Guitar Hero: World Tour DLC)
And they are sooooo good. If anyone has these tracks in good quality please let me know! OK I now conclude this is the best SF lineup.

Spirit how old were you when Still Searching came out? Weird to see someone prefer this over SS

I was about 16 when SS came out. My biggest gripe with that album has been and always will be Buddy's vocals/his harmonization w/back-up vox. I just don't think he sounds good.

ah same age as me. Were you hardcore into Let It Enfold You before that? Before a single song came out for Still Searching I was at a hard 5/5 with Let It Enfold You and had seen the band live already. Still Searching came out and blew me away. and then when Life Is Not A Waiting Room it really challenged me as a listener to understand and appreciate what the band was doing. It took digging and effort on my part to love Life Is Not A Waiting Room and I think the album is better off challenging me in such ways.

Yeah I got into SF in the From The Depths of Dreams era, and LIEY was my fav album at the time (still one of my favs). Still Searching came out and I immediately hated it pretty much. It’s actually grown on me a lot in recent years even though I still don’t think much of it. This album is better version of that imo.

I am kinda the opposite. I remember getting Depths of Dreams around release time and liking it for a bit but for whatever reason, when LiEY came out, I didn't really like the band anymore until a friend had me listen to SS a ways down the road (and I was surprised at how much I liked it) and got me back into them.
