Only heard this for the first time last year and I can tell it's underrated as fuck. It's too good for this lack of attention

Probably from some ancient Roadrunner Records DVD or something lol. I've always known about these guys but never listened to this one until recently.

Yes. Their style of riffing should definitely be appealing to DH fans.

Album rules so damn much. This dropped the year I was really starting to dive deep into extreme metal and I gotta say 2007/2008 were damn fine years to be doing that. Seemed like there was something amazing dropping more often than I could keep up with. This album in particular brings an insane amount of nostalgia. Terribly underrated band. I think the final Soilent Green dropped the same year if I remember right and although it doesn't really get mentioned anymore that one also kicks an unreasonable amount of ass

What other ones do you have 5'd? This one might creep up there for me too tbh. So damn good. I've been doing a deep dive on metalcore lately and man I've gotta say it's one of my favorite genres. So many different sounds to be found and it's been a really great journey so far

Beecher - Breaking the 4th Wall

Cave In - Until Your Heart Stops

Greyhaven - Empty Black

Misery Signals - Mirrors

Most MS fans either have Malice or Controller more highly rated but I have always found Mirrors to be more appealing for whatever reason

Looks like you haven't checked Beecher or Greyhaven yet! I like em both a lot

Nice! I really really love that Cave In album. Need to put Misery Signals back in rotation more frequently.

Jamming Beecher right now. Just started Mercury Switch and can confirm this rules! Loving the more chaotic moments. These dudes nail that spastic sound. Glad I asked about them 5's. I'll return with thoughts on both when I'm through with them. Floating Point came on as I type and I'm all in at this point lol

Hell yeah man. Glad to see it's not totally forgotten. It bums me out that they never came back. I feel like they had a lot left to offer with how killer that was

Oh yeah, Beecher is awesome. My favorite of what I have found in the more mxc/hxc blends I have listened to. One of my first 5s on here, I think, too

Greyhaven is a more controlled chaos than Beecher with a bit of a progressive vibe but I friggin love that one, too. Vocal work is top notch. Guy nails his cleans and harsh vox prefectly. Guitar is awesome on there, too, and sounds very full despite only having one guitarist in the band
