Batcat annoys the crap out of me, i cant "get" it, no matter how much i try. Jim Morrison and I Love You,... are really great though, classic mogwai

It looks like I am going against the grain here, but this is the first Mogwai that I really liked much on first listen.

The first three tracks hooked me (esp. Batcat), and the rest is not so bad either.

It's decent, but wayyyy too long

proof that their latest is better than this (as if you needed reminding):

1. That is an eagle on the cover. It is not a hawk.
2. Hawks do not howl. For that matter, neither do eagles.

3. Hardcore will, in fact, never die.
4. On the other hand, you most certainly will.

contrast 1/2 with 3/4.

I gotta say I really liked this album and this is my intro to this band.I'm Jim Morrison is my favorite on here.

listened to this front to back for the first time. was very pleasantly surprised. kind of like ( ) in that its an album of two sides. first half is very happy songs / mr beast-esque, but the second half is quite dark and ambient, like evpatoria report, and probably the most "young team" theyve sounded since cody. great album.

Natey knows, this album is awesome, and so is Mogwai's entire discography. I kinda see Mogwai as the Radiohead of post-rock, they're always coming with new stuff and different experimentations to their sound. The difference is people actually receive Radiohead's weirdness well and embrace it because it's Radiohead and riding on their dick is the shit nowadays, as for Mogwai people criticize them for not going back to their roots. But who the fuck would want another Young Team? Another Come On Die Young? Another Happy Songs? Another Rock Action? Another Mr. Beast? If someone misses those albums, why not listen to them instead?



Mogwai are an ever-evolving and innovating band and they're fucking masterminds at that.
