You spend way too much time comparing this to their other albums. We know it's not TOCS it's "Lost in the Sound of Separation", get over it.

a 1? Not a chance in hell

A 1 suggests an album that has absolutely no redeeming qualities at all. This album is better than that if only because even someone as hateful of this as you could concede that some of the instrumentation and songwriting is purposeful and well-executed, even if you don't like it. Even a 1.5 would have been partially realistic.

Just to set some facts here before I start this review: I have been listening to Underoath since they've released Cries of the Past.

Don't judge the review on the score. The review was pretty much a rant for the most part, but some points made were really good. What I think didn't worked was all the 'they used to be so much better' attitude. Coming from a viewpoint of someone who doesn't know the reviewer, album or band, this was at least a decent review. It was just a little too ranty to be an excellent review.

Did you seriously suggest At The Gates in an Underoath review?

You sound like a pissed off exfanboy

this. bad review, as you talk about how impressive aaron's drumming is and then you give it a 1?

Spencer's screaming in Define the Great Line and Lost in the Sound of Separation reminds me of someone buying a fake Prada bag from Chinatown in order to show off to her girlfriends that she is just as cool as them.

LOLWAT?

And even though these songs seemed to stand out among the other songs, they didn't satisfy my expectations for this album.
because the album didn't satisfy your expectations, it's an automatic 1? That seems slightly retarded.

3) Give Aaron just as many vocal parts as Spencer, in fact, take Aaron off drums and have two vocalists.

LOLWAT? pt. 2

So he growls and whines and keeps on screaming every two seconds in every song.
I thought that's what vocalists do?

Spencer's computerized screaming combined with Aaron's whiny singing
LOLWAT? pt. 3

from a post-hardcore band into a metalcore band
they were post-hardcore? this is news to me.

overall dude, i mean it's solidly written, but it just sounds like you're whining because they are going a direction that you don't want them to go. And the ways you describe certain things are simply laughable.

I was stating my opinion. I didn't think the review was so bad that it deserves the 12 negs it has. Idk maybe it does.

they were post-hardcore?

I think TOCS qualifies. This Message Edited On 09.18.08

If you want to hear good metalcore/metal/hardcore/death metal

1. Never lump Death Metal in with Metalcore and Hardcore. They are so different.
2. Whoracle and The Jester Race couldnt be further from Metalcore.

This isn't a well written review I don't see why people keep saying it is...I mean as far as grammar goes and everything it is but nearly none of his complaints go anywhere and nothing is backed up like...at all...plus hardly any of his complaints make sense (see bringonthebreakdown's comment for references)
