Nobody HAS to rate of course but there's no drawback to it IMO. Except for people that rate stuff VERY quickly, since I don't know how well you can know an album's rating that fast.



With regards to Burzum it's kind of a toss-up between Hvis.

Yeah, over the years I've noticed this place is very susceptible to mob mentality when it comes to albums which is a lot of times because of the quick ratings like you were saying

Some albums I rate quickly, like dime-a-dozen dm bands or deathcore albums. Those I can figure out real quickly.



But most albums, even those aforementioned, need a bit to settle.



Some releases are genuinely popular, but there are others where you're right, people just rate around what's 'expected' to fit in. Anything else is considered 'edgy' and 'contrarian'

Where is Your God was my favorite for a while because of the lyrics. It's so cutting.

The Hero is great because of how awesome the story and melody
