This album isn't as good as TFoI, but its still great. I really dont see a problem with Phil's vocals either. Yeah the cleans are different, but he still sounds awesome.

Boys, play nice.
It'll be interesting to see how a lot of these songs play out live since, from the videos of them I've seen, Phil cannot sing live.

Well I thought TFOI was really overrated. I mean, it was decent, but the only songs I
really found I loved were "Six," "the Air That I Breathe," "We Stand," and maybe
whispers and the weak willed. This
worth checking out in that case?

I think it depends on what you liked about those songs. I find this cd to be quite a bit catchier than TFoI, and the solos are better. I didn't hear as many obvious breakdowns either, but I haven't sat down and REALLY listened to it yet.
Anyway, that was probably no help at all...NIBB HIGH FOOTBALL RULES!

This kind of feels like The Fall of Ideals on anti-depressants to me. The sound is more balanced I guess but it never really hit me like TFoI did...as a whole I guess its more solid and consistent but its lacking in the memorable stuff like previously stated by others...

Yeah, there's less that sets the songs apart from each other imo.

Eh, this album's ok, but TFOI owns it in nearly every respect. It's far less emotional and powerful, and just falls pretty flat on most songs.

pretty much everyone else has stated what I was going to say already lol. I agree this is a more solid affair that TFoI but it does have some standouts(Days Without, Chiron, and Before the Damned). Jason did the best he could following Shannon, he doesn't add anything but he also doesn't take away anything either. I could've used some more higher ranged screams from phil though, thats my favorite aspect of his vocals.

I'm getting the album right now. I liked TFOI, so I hope I'll like this, though I can't really imagine Phil's clean vocals being less emotional as something I like at all, since I thought (though of course he sucks at singing live) his clean vocals were a real addition to the songs. Oh well, we'll see, and if I get here before the masses I might review this.

Well you should know going in that Phil's cleans are a lot worse than they used to be. I still like them, but some people don't.

His voice....his voice....his voice...
Other than that, fine review.
I might check this album out.

This is not near as good as TFOI but it's still okay I guess. I just bought it today and have listened to it once. Phil's clean vocals sound a little different then the first 3 releases. I'm gonna go see them in a couple weeks for the 2nd time, pretty good live show.

Ummm, I really don't like this album. He's gone too death growly, and actually sounds kinda stupid when he uses his death growls. And yeah, I don't like his clean vocals anymore. Chiron's good though.
