The previous opinion I gave was a crude parody of the average 12 year old fan of just about any band

Well obviously your last comment was a joke, but from other comments I gather that you can't stand the band.

Not that I can't stand them, I'd rather not listen to them.

Also, their lyrics are stupid in their clumsy attempt at hatred and violence, but given they appeal mostly to a younger demographic I find that they could show a bit more responsibility where that's concerned.

Oh, ok.

Well, the lyrics are definitely aimed at teenagers who are angry/angsty etc. but the band does have some redeeming points with riffs and drumming. Nothing revolutionary though, I might add.

I just think that where lyrics are concerned, if You're writing lyrics for teenagers you owe them a bit more than "I wanna rip off your head and F**k the wound".

It's just no good for anyone who's already depressed, and plus, 20 years time they will look back on the songs and the words will mean nothing to them.

The best lyrics should stay relevant forever

Slipknot are definitely not a band for that, which is of detriment to them artistically, yet it hasn't affected their success. So clearly it's working, and there are a vast amount of people who would connect with Taylor's lyrics, despite how immature they are.

Only song I actually don't skip from this album is probably Vendetta. Otherwise, most songs are kinda average.

Sulfur stood the test of time. I heard it yesterday and it sounded fantastic.

atavan, looking at the other music you're into, it's very strange that you enjoy this.

If you skip all but one tracks how can you justify a 'good' rating?

If the one song in question is a really good song amongst a load of shoddy half-assed tunes then I would give the album a very kind 2.

I wasn't referring to this album. But that raises a good point, I haven't listened to this in a while, I liked it quite a lot when I heard it at first. I might give it another listen and possibly drop the rating a peg.
