It's okay for me, below their average but not bad at all.

The summary of this review - "Iron Maiden sells out". They didn't sell out because if they did, things wouldn't be the way they are now for them. Just because a band releases an album that is inferior to their previous releases and isn't that hot, doesn't mean that they have officially sold out and were dead in the water.

Why the hate? This still has some great stuff on it, such as Holy Smoke, Run Silent, Run Deep and Tailgunner, which are classic Maiden. Now, I agree, Assassin is pretty bad, and the material ranges from mediocre to great. Hardly a classic, but it's still on par with Bailey stuff, imo.

I agree that this isn't their worst album (the title for me goes to Virtual XI-Maiden's most boring album) but I wouldn't go as far as to say that there is anything classic in here.

Some good, enjoyable tracks sure (personal favourites: the title track, assassin and public enema) but no classic Maiden song here.

However I get why people really enjoyed "bring your daughter" and consider this to be a classic, I don't really agree though.

This album was a major let down after the release of the few great albums prior to this one. What a disappointment.

Much better than seventh son of a seventh son.I think it relives some of the glory on older albums such as beast and piece of mind. I absolutely love bring your daughter to the slaughter perhaps the best track and mother russia is a nice closer as well.

I believe everyone (including myself) were a little bit disappointed with this record, specially after the previous masterpiece.

However we find good moments here in Public Enema Number One or the title track.
