I kept thinking in "...surrender your sons", they were blantantly ripping off the deftones. Turns out Chino Moreno was singing on it.

I want to take my rating back, the more I listen to the album, the more I like it. 3.5

^^^You can change your rating, y'know. Don't know why you'd want to make it higher for this album, but whatever.

dude, what is with the hate of this album? It's not like their other stuff but that's ok, it still sounds cool. Opposite of left and wrong sounds like classic Deftones, which it should with Chino Moreno's vocals.

They took the worst elements of Redeemer and added some hard rock elements that don't work well with their strengths (i.e. BREAKDOWNS). I mean, it's not horrible and I guess I give them props for trying something new, but this style doesn't fit them at all.

I enjoyed this review, maybe just because I agree with all the points you made on their previous albums. This has definitely grown on me as of late. Redeemer is still my favorite NJ album though. The end of "The End of All Things Will Be Televised" rules.

This record is actually better than most people give it credit. It's really well produced, if anything. Plus, Corey's vocals don't get on my nerves like the vocalists of several other metalcore acts. The female chorus in the third track is particularly interesting...

I didn't like the album at first... I ignored it for a couple of months, then I gave it a second listen and it started to grow on me. Now I love this album.

Redeemer had like two decent songs. This has none. O' God is an awesome album even though it's pretty much a Botch rip-off. Bless The Martyr was awesome too.

Personally, one of my favourite albums. It shows a certain maturity to be comfortable enough as a band to write music very different to expectations and finally shake the "Metalcore phenomenon". Although not the most technically brilliant album, structurally it is brilliant. Too often the quality of a song is based on technicality and "wow" factor. The Anti-Mother on the other hand creates a feeling.
