I don't know haha. TLF is supposedly a darker sound though, this ranges from absurdly catchy to sort of melancholy.

a) radiohead is one band and not at all representitive of the british scene, which as a whole is saturated with bands that haven't got an original idea between them. there is so so so so much crap aimed at winning quick critical acclaim and record sales. also 'indie rock' is pretty much half the mainstream over here.
b) pop is definitely mainstream.

yeah if we're just talking indie rock, then of course Radiohead is the crown jewel. but The National, Minus the Bear, Murder By Death, etc. are all American and also some of the best bands in the genre, not to mention Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene (Canadian).
the UK has some great bands though, I just wouldn't pin it down to one specific genre.
