i just absolutely hate everything about it and i could stay here forever and write essays about everything i find wrong with this



anything "unique" about this record just seems really badly thrown in and organized to me, especially with the trombone moments (like in the last track and several others) and I really dislike the vocals. something rubs me entirely in the wrong way about the lyrics too. sometimes they just want to make me throw up.



other than that, most of the songs here seem so badly put together to me and i just can't find anything redeemable about this record.



now normally i would have just moved on and forgot about this and said it wasn't for me but the fact people insisted I'd love this due to other stuff I like and calling it one of the greatest post-rock albums ever I simply had to protest. i give it a 1 because i truly think that any post-rock element here is just horribly executed and the way it's mixed

with other genres just doesn't work all that well to me.



think what you want about it, it's not really my concern and I won't raise issue with you for liking this. i just absolutely hate it beyond nearly anything else and then when people tell me it's a grower and i need to listen more... gah, no no no no no. no. :[



oh and it's a lossy master. i hate lossy masters.

I dunno who's been touting this as one of the best post-rock albums ever but that's a pretty dumb presumption considering this isn't all that post-rock.

My guess is that you simply hate anything "indie" or whatever about this but oh well...

if I give you better post-rock rec.s (not 'mixes' or whatever like this) can you promise me you'll listen to them in place of Hymn to the Immortal Wind, please?
