If you were to cut out March and H/armless and take 58.788 and split it into a few of the tracks then this album would be much better.
|
| |
Nope nope sorry Moog luv but those are essential to the album flow

H/armless is insane tbh. March is unnecessarily long but still rules

Depends, are we talking metalcore in general or the post-metal/metalcore hybrids? The latter is a bit more of an exclusive list just because few bands ever attempted that, hence why I respect this while not necessarily loving it.

How is it neccessary for a badly done 17 minute drone track and 3 minute long chugfest of the exact same riff to be on this album?
|

Whichever you think of as rather listening to when hearing Knut. Like, “oh so & so fish shits on this”.
That kind of thing.

No one better say Amia Venera Landscape unless they enjoy the taste of grass

Well guess what, AVL shits all over this. It seems trendy to hate them now for some reason, but they absolutely nailed the balance between post-metal atmosphere and the harshness/technicality of post-hardcore and metalcore. The amount of activity happening in every moment of their album is incredible. I'll get fired up and defend them every day on a musical level. Their social media conduct, or lack thereof, is a different matter that is indeed shitty.
In terms of other post-metal/metalcore giants or ones that inject more atmosphere in general, here are some names y'all may know/may not know.
Bleak
Comity
Will Haven
Name
Curl Up and Die (recently reunited I think)
Eden Maine
Zapruder (EP & Fall in Line era, mostly)
Amia Venera Landscape (fight me)
Harlots
Noise Trail Immersion (moreso their sophomore effort)
Ephel Duath
Dionaea (though they're quite a hybrid mix, not truly metalcore)
.Crrust
Zygoma (debut, not their sophomore release--I disown that one)
Possibly more but that's what I've got off the top of my head.

Will Haven, Harlots, Eden Maine, and .Crrust are def way better than this.
Especially on Will Haven and .Crrust
Not the biggest fan of Curl Up and Die but yeah I guess theyre at least a bit better than this. Should maybe give them a second listen. Havent listened to any of the other bands listed tho.
