Cuckoo's Nest, You, Chasing Blue Sky and especially Some People Fly are all tracks I love a lot. Idk felt like bumping this thread.

I can't argue on that. Personally I hate Get a Life.

The Voice Inside was the first song I finally got to hear them play live. Plus its just a good song.

The Voice Inside, Saved, and Spool are the better tracks on here.....if there ever were any

Sign of the Times and You are my favourites. Not so bad as I remembered from the first listen that was 3 or 4 years ago, but this is really boring and bland in some points.

its because they cut their ears off and couldn't hear the final product

Oh they could hear it, in fact they got mad at DeGarmo for this album.
My rating is magnified though, it's a 3 but I want to show that I actually don't mind this album. Inconsistent as hell but it has a lot of gems.

Well he is the main songwriter here, credited everywhere but the bonus Chasing Blue Sky, six tracks even credited alone...

see my comment above....just because he wrote almost all of it doesn't mean his mates didn't have any say on the direction they were heading in which was exactly the case with this album

In that sense I agree, but the situation was getting tense between them and I don't know how much they really cared or wanted to create further disagreement.

Fates is probably the most consistent out of the big three.
@ksoflas: yeah good song. There are a few memorable ones here.

Fates are definitely the most consistent, but Ryche are arguably the most seminal.
I was about to type all the tracks from this that I consider more or less solid but I realized I was going to write down like two thirds of the album. In the end the only one I really dislike is Get a Life because I hate that chorus.
|
| |
nah Fates were way more important for prog metal
Queensryche were honestly never even that proggy save for the occasional odd time signature

Fates took something from Ryche (and Maiden) though, and The Warning has definitely some progressive material even through modern eyes.
