not one i listen to often; bit dull with weak songs. Black satin dancer should be much better than it is.

I agree with 13themount. By the time you get to the hevy parts of Black Satin Dancer and Mintrel in the Gallery, you've already forgot the melody of the acoustic parts because they almost don't exist. Where are those amazing melodies such as the ones of "Aqualung"," We Used to Know" or "Heavy Horses" on this album? Since i'm going to give "Thick as a Brick" a 5, i guess i can only give this a 3, oh well.

Well, I changed my mind about the first part of the title track, wich is pretty good. "Cold Wind to Valhalla" is a nice, even though average, song with a cool "hook". "Black Satin Dancer" starts with 2 minutes of acustic boredom before they throw a really good guitar Riff, and a amazing solo by Martin, but the song itself don't go anywhere. "One White Duck" and "Requiem" are even worse, they sound like "Black Satin Dancer" without the electric part. I know you all love "Baker St. Muse", but I had to wait almost 2 minutes to hear a actually good melody,

"Didn't make her

With my Baker Street Ruse.

Couldn't shake her

With my Baker Street Bruise.

Like to take her

But I'm just a Baker Street Muse."

And this is pretty much the only good thing on the entire 16 minutes of this terribly boring song.

Couldn't disagree more. This album features some of Ian Anderson's best melodies IMO and although the album takes a bit more time to sink in than some of their earlier releases, I think it has some of their finest moments.
