thread-wise, here's what I'm getting from this situation: luck's pointlessly voicing the fact that the addition of art makes the review seem subconsciously credible (which it does)
I really don't see it as being pointless. There's no reason to no have album art. Obviously he has the album or vinyl and it came with some sort of cover, what is so hard about adding it to the database

Excellent review.

1888, those were the days.
Never heard this, but the portions of the Nutcracker I have heard melt my soul.

I think it's more of a case whether he has interpreted the ample imformation given.
Great review, brother, as always (envious)

favourite classical compilation ever, and probably my 5th favourite 'album'

I've only heard No.6 Pathétique from Tchaikovsky, and it's brilliant.
Might check this out sometime.

sometime?

Yeah, I would do it now, but I prefer buying hard-copies for classical music.
Or I might just download this now, now I've got some good speakers/headphones.

dug this out of a dusty box in a local goodwill when i was starting out my record collection years ago, and got this classic (the Columbia 1960 version w/ the Philly Orchestra) for ten cents
best ten cents spent

i'm loving his 6th symphony lately, if this is anywhere near as good as that i'll probably dig. and ya it's pretty crazy how cheap you can score classical music on vinyl

The Mravinsky & the Leningrad PO rendition (Deutsche Grammophon), contains symphonies 4, 5 & 6 and remains unsurpassed...

yeah man, when i was in middle school I'd get a few from goodwill (didn't have my local record store yet, only two more years) for dirt cheap. I'm thinking of going there soon and seeing the selection. The past year, their classical/jazz selection has been garbage. My local store has a good selection, but hardly puts any out. I did suggest that the owner should get some new stuff out since he's running low on the selection (since he's very open to suggestions)

I used to listen to the copy I had non-stop when I first bought it along with the RCA version of 1812/Wellington's Victory. Surprised neither of them are worn out, to be honest.
