i actually think this is the best album theyve done. i mean, the album just flows really well i think, and especially after ara batur it just gets stronger. i actually think they got the tracklisting perfect on this one

How are Sigur Ros pretentious? Please explain. They have never given off an overwhelming sense of wanting to be noticed and become famous, even after they started getting attention on a much larger scale. If anything, Sigur Ros are overwhelmingly humble.

wut? since when are humble and pretentious opposites of each other? my definition of pretentious doesn't have anything to do with wanting to be famous but something being grand, overbearing, showy, dead serious but also challenging and demanding. and that's kinda what Sigur Ros are (or were, they kinda lose their pretentiousness nowadays)
actually pretentious isn't negative for me, I usually love music everyone claims to be pretentious. but probably I've just gotten it wrong.
