Morphogenesis was the first song I heard from them in like 2008 or so and one of my first metal bands I liked. Great chorus in that song. I still go back to it from time to time.

Thought the album would be a bit heavier since the title track was literally the first time I've ever heard of these guys, but there's a lot of variety here and certainly a lot of memorable moments, which more than makes of for that.

Gothenburg really does have a ton of awesome melo-death bands. God bless

They're not from Gothenburg, they're from Avesta

They're melodic death metal, but they don't really sound like bands from the Gothenburg scene much at all, in my opinion at least

They have their own style for sure and it definitely clicked with me. A bit disappointed they changed up vocalists after this album since I felt they nailed the clean/harsh combo

@battenkill Christian Alvestam has a lot of different side projects and bands, so if you want more of this style its definitely out there. i'd recommend checking out Solution .45 or Miseration for starters

Torchbearer is probably his best band, though no clean singing there. Right now Scar Symmetry have a sweet growler, but a rather crappy clean singer. Luckily the guitarist Per Nilsson comes to the rescue on their latest album and does some cleans too, he's much more similar to Christian than to Lars (the current guy). What's more, when performing live, the 2 guitarists and the bassists all do backing cleans, which creates a pretty amazing effect. Kinda like what Into Eternity do live, everyone sings in that band pretty much, lol

I love how Ghost Prototype 2 sounds like a fucking Backstreet Boys song before it kicks into gear.

There's definitely some weaker tracks on this like with all SS albums, but when they're on they're fucking ON.
