polka breakdowns?

What?

And no, the keyboards sound nothing like Dream Theater's or BTBAM's. The keys are used more tastefully on this.

Yeah, the keys make the song more epic and brings together the rest of the song.

It's Porcelain Heart done with only mellotron. I don't know where you can hear it though.

I really do love Burden. It seems completely off coming from Opeth, but I still think it's a beautiful song.

I really like Ghost Reveries better. I let the hype machine for this album get into my head too much.

Album is good, good job on the review as well. Run of the gun Opeth, really, but that is never cause for worry.

How can Heir Apparent cement him as your favorite death metal vocalist when his only death metal work is in Bloodbath?

I know that. I was asking as to why he thought it was polka. Far from it.

This album is pretty inconsistent as well.

How so? If your going to say that Opeth are too diverse, too many twists and turns in their songs, or some nonesense like that, then you have no case.

Bought it when it came out. Haven't listened to it yet, however a very good review.
