I say this all the time but it bears repeating that “Carry the Zero” is the best pure indie rock song ever. There may be some I personally like more but it is just the perfect encapsulation of the style.

Revisited this and honestly, while it's good, the 4.0 may be out of respect to Carry the Zero. There's definitely some stuff here that I'm not huge on, but my God that song is just next level

Having somehow awarded the new album, the same rating as this. I am now filled with a sense of possible injustice.

untrustable is good, as a whole i like "perfect from now on" more than this but "carry the zero" is one of the all-time greats

Carry the Zero is a really good Chords Thing, perfect diminished/augmenteds or whatever. I just like There’s Nothing the most tho, I think Perfect is kinda boring. Should give Secret a good check

There are like five songs on Perfect and a couple from TNWWL that I'd take over Carry the Zero, but it's still a classic

(that's just me being a pain, the phrasing is really pretty)

So no one ever mentions it but Else is pretty much the most beautiful and melancholy tune ever written
|

Maybe just the dom7 on that third chord then sounds thick
