amazing drumming. This is progressive as fuck, which is rare in the genre. There's an organ there that fits weirdly perfect there...almost remind me of Doors. Enjoying a lot so far.

this only lacked on highlights but whole thing is pretty much an highlight. For sure will give it more spins.

Picking a favorite track is too hard. A Golden Dawn, perhaps. I could almost pick any song as a favorite when I really think about it, especially because 99% of the time I listen to entire records in one go, as opposed to single songs. This record is just too perfect.

I've listened to the whole thing 6 times but had a spare 10 minutes so I stuck 'A Golden Dawn' on by itself just the once. I'm the same with the entire records thing, especially ones which aren't particularly lengthy such as this (I make exceptions for double-albums, mainly).

idk...is pretty accurate when you put technique over songwriting, or when you ruin overall aesthetics with it.

But it's so often used as an excuse to dislike any sort of intricate instrumental portion. Sounds complicated? Must be wank!



There are times when it is applicable, but there are numerous other instances where it's just thrown around as this catch-all for anything that's remotely technical.

I agree there Mars, oftentimes it's thrown around lazily when more apt critical descriptors could be used. Also, wanking is fun, so why associate such a satisfying activity with something negative?
