Comment was supposed to be tongue in cheek, ratings shouldn't be too logical.
Half this album is pretty darn poor for me though.

i don't really dislike any of the tracks, tbh
even Days of the Week, which I've come to realize I'm mostly just averse to it's "cop-out" placement on the album
some real beauts on here

'Days of the Week' isn't even in the bottom 5 songs...but yeah, it is a little annoying.
The only songs that can be ranked alongside the band's best work are:
- Hello, it's Late [4/5]
- Dumb Love [4/5]
- Coma [4/5]
- Too Cool Queenie [3.5/5]
- Hollywood Bitch [3.5/5]
That's it, the rest are all 3/5 or below.

Awesome picks man, spot on! Those are all my favs as well, I'd just add Transmissions from a Lonely Room. Totally digging this one.
Days of the Week however is the one STP track I can't stand at all. So damn annoying...

Lol I just skipped through the songs on here and tried to do a quick evaluation per track. The resulting average would barely be 3.5 in total. Mainly because I detest Days of the Week so much.
However, the above mentioned songs are all just so strong... Does one bad song rule out an album you really like to be a 4? I don't think so tbh.

One bad song on an album shouldn't affect your rating very much at all imo

Totally agreed. I was just surprised at how much one track rated as awful can impact the "objective" average rating of an album and drag it down.

for some reason, seeing the video for "Days of the Week" made me like the song a bit more - it's not the greatest video but it's so damn charming and almost like Blur meets The Smashing Pumpkins or something that all of a sudden I kind of got the appeal of the song - plus that bridge is pretty great

that being said it's still pretty much my least favorite on here

Bi-polar bear is the only song I hate from the album.

Log, I just watched the video to Days of the Week and it's pretty good indeed, mainly because Scott was such a sexy MF and the DeLeo bros and Kretz kick some serious ass. It fits the song very nicely and I also enjoy the bridge part and somehow the song as a whole better now.
STP had such a great style...

To keep going with the days of the week thread.
I knew the STP because of that video.
Oh and there was a time I used to confuse queens of the stone age with stone temple pilots because of their names.
And I also got confused Scott Weiland with Scott Stapp.

yeah it's funny how that works, isn't it? like all of a sudden it actually "makes sense" what they were going for with it, it's supposed to kind of be "campy" and almost Britpoppy - though tbh Tiny Music had a fair share of that kind of thing and thsoe tracks worked with or without the videos
still tho, i like it a whole lot more now, after that whole shebang

Hello It's Late is a beautiful sad song. Don't care much for the rest though

Lmao at the 1/5 song ratings for some of the best songs on the album. I just wish the sound quality on this album was better (it's mastered too loud). The first three albums are much better in that respect.

I think the album got an unfair reputation because of the lack of heavy songs. Yeah It might be less heavier than the previous albums especially in comparison to No.4 but that doesn't make the album bad....you just want to have an excuse to hate the band.
