Yeah this album is so close to a 5 it isn't even funny. The only thing really holding it back is "Ganglion." By the way the piano/drum interludes on "Dismay" are disgustingly ill, raunchy, and disturbingly awesome. Although having read some of Vlad's ideologies, (and the lyrics to fecal rebellion ((giggles uproariously) )) he seems like kind of a freak. A musical badass, but a freak.

I didn't care for Ganglion at first either but it's really grown on me. I can listen to this start to finish no problem now. This is truly amazing work.

I actually love all of carriers of dust. Even the ludicrously long final track. I don't have huge problems with "Ganglion," it's just that everything in that track is done better on another track fi that makes sense. It doesn't really stick out. Oh and if you guys haven't, you should check out Weeping Birth, he actually does some pretty good stuff. Not as awesome as Mirrorthrone though.

Agree about Ganglion, but it doesn't get overshadowed as much as it used to for me.
Speaking of closers, So Frail is incredible. The cleans sound really odd but really cool.

You mean at the beginning of the song? Its really hard to believe his range on here. I would like to see how studio-ed his vocals really are, but we'll never know unless he posts a vid (which I highly doubt). He's probably my favorite vocalist , the black metal shrieks are great, the death growls are crushing, and his various clean vocals are spot on and amazing aside from the ones on Ganglion (we really are beating a dead horse now)

Couple listens and this album is good but a little overwhelming...i feel like i'm missing everything if i don't concentrate a second...So Frail is still one of the best songs this year but the rest of the album is just a little to much...for now but i think this can grow

that's the point. it's not meant to be easy listening. it's intense, architectured, injected with such doses of thought and planning as is rarely seen in modern music. the HUGE overbearing majority of music today, even in underground areas, is written to be enjoyed on its own sake. enjoyed easily. no discomfort, no challenge, no effort. this album is a remembrance of how powerful and mind-bending music used to be. it's art. and it's absolutely beautiful
