Yeah, Vheissu > This, by a large margin.

I don't really like Vheissu. I love The Abolition of Man, Hoods on Peregrine, Paper Tigers, every song. This is the best Thrice album to me.

I'm a guitar person and don't like too much screaming like in Paper Tigers.

With that description, wich Thrice album you guys think I'll like the best?

EMO-CORE = Post Hardcore

I prefer to say "post hardcore" but it's the same...

"I don't like Stare at the Sun at all, but the rest of the album is superb."

mmmm relisten to it... it's an awesome melodic song. Great bass work on the verse

I don't understand why everyone thinks that Vheissu is better than this. The both only have one mediocre song and are good in their own ways.

I think this is far better than Vheissu but only by a hair. Wait that doesn't make sense. Still, I like this more.

I'd like them about the same, but I find this is easier to sit through no matter what mood I'm in. Vheissu is wicked, but I really need to be in the mood for most of it. Except And The Earth Will Shake...that song slays me.

Paper Tigers, Silhouette, and Bloodclots are the best this one has to offer.

I think Artist is great as a track by track album, but Vheissu has this flow that makes it meant to be listened to as an album. Plus, I have much more of an emotional connection with Vheissu and the whole atmospheric vibe combined with the lyrics on the album make it just one of the best albums of the decade I think.

Don't get me wrong, Artist is incredible. "Melting Point Of Wax" is mindblowlingly good, "Silhouette" and "Paper Tigers" are two of their heaviest songs, "Artist..." and "All That's Left" are incredible sing along anthems a la "Image..." and the album opener is just fantastic.

I dislike the tracks "Stare at the Sun" and "The Artist in the Ambulance". Although i like the acoustic versions of them, the album versions sort of just annoy me.

I know what you mean, the album versions kind of shocked me since all I had heard up until then were the acoustic versions.
