Purple don't seem to get as much love around here as the other two which is a shame seeing as they're actually my favourite out of the three.

Deep Purple are too bluesy, if I compare Deep Purple albums with Led Zeppelin's blues albums than DP would win.

Houses Of The Holy, on the other hand, kills any DP album imo.

I think that DP where much superior in live performances. Nevertheless, studio albums is a matter of taste.



Personally I would take Rising over any Zeppelin album but it's all a matter of taste.

I never really got the hype around live album. I mean, Made In Japan is amazing, but comparing it to a studio album....

Made in Japan is better than all of Purple's studio albums imo. Best live album ever.

Live After Death is a killing live album too. Different that Made in Japan, because the band doesn't improvise a lot but Maiden where at their peak. The way they deliver their songs is absolutely powerful.

Yeah Live After Death is awesome too, definitely in my top 5 live albums.
