I've actually only heard him say bad things about this album.

Actually, I think he rates this (sadly) as one of their lesser ones, but his least favorite album that he prefer to forget about os Be Here Now and I can agree, that's really Oasis weakest.

there are some great songs on here. the only probably is that that doesnt make it a great album. It get's too long in parts. Some songs could have been left off.
I would have replaced I Can See A Liar with the B-side Let's All Make Believe. That might have made fans give this album an extra star.
but thats just my opinion. personally, I like this album.

By far their worst album.

Great review and so is the album. Deserves a 4 rating for Gas Panic alone.

Auldy, I think it's a great tune, man.. maybe you should listen to it more carefully. this song has really grown on me after several years, at first I didn't like it at all. i just think that it has some great guitar work and really good thougtful lyrics.. But that's only my opinion of course

"I think he rates this (sadly) as one of their lesser ones"
Yeah definitely. I heard him say one time that the lyrics themselves are great but the actual album was a disappointment. He said
there was hardly any inspiration in the band from the time after What's the Story came out till like Heathen Chemistry.
Honestly, everyone blames Noel or Liam for the bands downfall but I think it was because the other members were such slouches.
They all acted, as Noel says " as if they were unworthy to be in Oasis" thus placing all the pressure on him to carry the band.

'Fuckin In The Bushes', 'Go Let It Out', 'Who Feels Love?', 'Gas Panic!', 'Where Did It All Go Wrong?' all save this album and make it totally worthwhile.
'Gas Panic!' is especially brilliant and if you haven't heard Noel's acoustic version of 'Where Did It All Go Wrong?' then go on youtube and watch that shit right now because it does that song justice 10x over.
I can let the shite tracks like 'Little' James and the last 1/3 of the album slide because a skip button exists.

This album is a nice change to the usual Oasis sound. Gas Panic is absolutely incredible, Go Let It Out, Where Did It All Go Wrong and Fuckin in the Bushes are great aswell, Who Feels Love, Sunday Morning Call and Roll It Over are pretty good.
However Little James and the rest is terrible. Why oh why did Noel not put the excellent Let's All Make Believe? on here (the B Side from the first single), he seriously makes the most awful decisions.
Anyway I think this album is better than people think, definitely better than shite like Heathen Chemistry.

The second half of the album is way better than the first half, Little James and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth is are
horrible. The fact that Let's All Make Believe didn't make it on this album is mind blowing, it's easily a top single but
whatever Liam's songs are no where near Noel's.

Never liked what i heard on the radio from these guys, but i might their earlier albums later idk

Fuckin' in the Bushes is the most bad ass song ever.

While its probably the low point of their discography I think it's an under rated album. Yeah there's some shit on it (looking at you Little James) and its over produced in places but its got some real gems. I'll never understand why Lets All Make Believe was omitted from all versions of this bar the Japanese one.
