Meh, first impressions would have been totally out of place here. Kind of cool, yes...but seeing as they have told their fans not to buy a copy if they find it, it'd be kind of hippocritical. That and they themselves claim that its terrible. Lockstep is pretty tight tho, and I love the the chorus to madman.

"Madman" is from Identity Crisis.

What do you mean? It was a b side to IC?

No, it was originally on IC when they released it with whatever independent label they did it with before SubCity. For some reason it didn't appear on the SubCity version.

^^ True
I'm not really a fan of 'Madman' though. I've given it a few listens to try and get into it, but it hasn't really paid off.

Dfelon, do you have the version of IC with Madman on it?

Not the hard copy but if you just call "Madman" track 10 you can have your very own mp3 version. Notice the sort of ambient party noises and the weird piano at the end of "Madman." Isn't it funny how that blends into the beginning of "Unquestioned Answers?" Think about it.

The DVD that came with it was disappointing, but there is a few good songs on the CD. The acoustics of Stare at the Sun and Cold Cash and Colder Hearts were both great, and there were a few more i liked too. If you're a Thrice fan it's worth the money, but if not, I wouldn't get it.

The DVD that came with it wasnt much, but it was a good way to spen free time. Captain_Civic is right. If you like Thrice, its worth the money.

I thought the DVD was fantastic. The stuff in the van would make plenty of people laugh not just Thrice fans.

How about, "I'm sitting in to the captain's chair. The captain's chair is sitting into me!" I laughed so hard at that. And yeah...the electrical tape fu manchu beards were great too...

i think a more complete review of this DVD/CD is needed. afer all this is meant more as a DVD imo.

The DVD is great, riley is so funny. There are some pretty good moments in there... "peeing in bottles is an art form." They've such an awesome sense of humor.
I get really stoked watching the Phoenix Ignition and T&C videos for some reason, too.
Motion Isn't Meaning has such great lyrics. Alliteration all over the place. whoo. And the Eleanor Rigby cover is super-dee-duper as well.
There's an acoustic, live version of Madman on Dustin's myspace page. And, I've got First Impressions if anybody wants it.

Yeah Eleanor Rigby is the sweetest cover ive witnessed in a long time. I would have to give 4.5/5 for the cd, and 5/5 for the DVD. Because it was in fact very entertaining and humerous at the same time. These dudes are hilarious and if you want to get to know them, this is where you need to look. There wasnt really a dull moment. In either the cd/dvd. I'll have to give it a 4.5/5.

I was under the impression that "Motion Isn't Meaning" was a B-side off of The Illusion of Safety, since it was listed as such on a Hopeless Records compilation. Sonically, it also sounds a lot closer to the rest of TIOS than TAITA, so you might want to check your info there.
