Voyage 34 is brilliant and it would be interesting if he could mix the psychedelia elements with some of his modern experimentation. I don't know what his next logical step in his solo career would be

i only mean that it's just so ripped off from Another Brick in the Wall. but yeah it'd be nice to see how it would sound like with his modern experimentation. my personal prediction is that he is going more towards Thom Yorke on his next one

Agreed. Voyage 34 isn't far away from my favourite PT releases. (It counts as early PT obviously as the material is from the Up the Downstair era). I would definitely be interested to see Wilson incorporate some more psychedelia into his more recent material. Doubt he will though.

Small chance of that happening, yeah. Never really noticed Voyage 34, I suppose it's worth checking out.

If you liked Up the Downstair then you'd probably like Voyage 34. It's easily the trippiest thing Wilson has ever done.

I've been thinking about paying PT's psychedelic era a revisit anyway, seems the perfect time to listen to that album as well.

@Viper: Stupid Dream would probably be a good starting point then move on to The Sky Moves Sideways and Up the Downstair.

Everyone else will probably tell you different though.

Stupid Dream is the best to start with since it has elements of both the first 4 and last 4 records.
Lightbulb Sun is very much the same

Unfortunately I think he's not going to revisit psych anytime soon, he's having too much fun ripping

off old school prog

Yep, Stupid Dream. Everything after is pretty much "easy listening", while the earlier stuff is a lot spacier.
