I agree, i don't particularly like Satch Boogie that much. There are way better songs on this album like Crushing Day and Surfing With The Alien.

One of the best instrumental albums of all time. A true classic that will be around for years. It might be better than Passion and Warfare from Vai, but i'm not sure.

Ha! I haven't heard this whole album, I've only heard clips off iTunes. I love the clip in 'Surfing With the Alien', theres a woooosh and Satriani melts my face off...Good review too

Amazing album, i'm seeing him for the third time in two years on thursday and he's going to play this album in it's entirety for it's 20th anniversary of the album. He's only playing three shows, and he's coming to Chicago!

Absolutely fantastic, Satriani is amazing and this album is some top work.

His guitar seems so alive, his playing is so varied with many interesting arrangements.

Man I was stoned when I posted that ages back.

But I concur as I listen to it again. Also, I might add this album feels like an excellent bridge between esoteric technical wankery and accessibility to the common listener which I something I have to praise Satriani for over his virtuoso peers.

Good album, a few stand out tracks, but like other Satch records it feels a little flat compared to his live performances.

Oh, and simply because this album has Satch Boogie I bumped it from 3.5 to 4. That is a great great song.

Trying to get into this but I always end up listening to something else after a few songs. He is amazing though.

Great album, very catchy. I also love Satch Boogie and that wooosh from the title track, but I still find Passion And Warfare and MalmsteenĀ“s Rising Force more interesting. Still better than Ah Via Musicom (which I love, btw) though.
