It's funny that you tried to insult me with Simple Plan, which makes you look even more pathetic, you didnt actually stop to think that I have a matured music taste which therefore goes beyond Queens of the Stone Age, considering I listen to what ever music appeals to me, from hip-hop to death metal, I don't see why you're in a position to assume I'd go for some rather horrible mainstream music like Simple Plan.
Finally, since you've proved yourself as an absolute no nothing idiot who can't see past anything, I would say that "you fucking disgust me" but you see, that would be putting myself on you're level, one that is clearly very fucking childish, and well I think i've proved myself in this rant and in my reviews that i'm clearly not any of that, so why start now?

Lullabye is good too

It's ok, but lacking the energy and greatness of Songs for the Deaf. Josh doesn't even scream in it!!!
|

if your're familiar with Songs for the Deaf you might think this cd sucks, but who wants the same album over again? if you listen to all the songs and learn a few on an instrument (guitar bass etc...)this cd will really grow on you, worked for me and this is my favorite cd of all time.and for all of you who are saying for example "lacking the energy and greatness of Songs for the Deaf" just stop your whining you babies and listen to the new album, it is pure awesomeness. and josh homme and the gang would be really stupid to put out a cd that sounds exactly like songs for the deaf. and they are some of the best musicians in the world. everytime you guys mention the lullabies to paralyze not as good as songs for the deaf crap you make me throw up in pure disgust!!This Message Edited On 08.09.05

sorry, but that still doesnt defend it well.
The Progression from "Rated R" to "Songs from the Deaf" was phenominal. And Queens looked like the mostly likely band of anybody who were actually going to keep progressing and topping themselves.
They just regressed in a terrible way here.
I actually gave it another chance recently, it still bores me.

I agree. I loved 'Rated R' and 'Songs For The Deaf', it's nice to see someone else feels the same way about this album. There are a few good songs, but that's about it.
This album is dullsville, honey.

"Tangled Up In Plaid" is a the highlight on a somewhat weaker album from Homme and co. in my opinion. I love the heavy drumming by Joey on that track.

and greatful I am too Iai.
I recently changed my mind on "In My Head" thats actually a really good blues driven pop song. the rest remains alod of tat.

i agree with you all this cd isnt as good as songs for the deaf, but keep in mind that qotsa are trying to experiment with different sounds and stuff (like almost every musician), so thats why this album doesnt sound like songs for the deaf. and almost every musician usually has one album that sucks. and dont buy lullabies to pararlyze if you only like little sister because sorry to say but no other song on the album is like it. but i still like the album because im a hardcore fan of qotsa. hopefully if they make a new album it will kick lullabies' ass!!!!!

Hmmm I think your review could have atleast been a little more dtailed and atleast mentioned some of the other tracks . However I must agree that this isn't up to the high standards that songs for the deaf set. But i think you wee a lilbit too harsh you do sound like a genuine fan that was let down , and I would like to read a review of the whole albumThis Message Edited On 09.02.05

to be fair I think I didnt mention many tracks because so many sounded exactly the same, it was a bit hard to pick them all out.
thanks for replying though.

Hmmm. Terrible review. I have only heard "Little Sister" (hasn't everybody) and "Burn the Witch", but I like them both. I have Songs for the Deaf, but I hate it.

you havent even heard the album.

I'm a huge QOTSA fan i could listen to "R" or "songs for the deaf" for hours but this album just didn't do that for me it has a couple good songs i would at least rate it a 3/5.

This review is terrible because it is so hard to read. That, and it is very short. My opinion is biased though, as I like track-by-track reviews wayyyy better.
