i was seriously dissapointed in this album. it was almost all pop, which really annoyed me. the only songs worth listening to were Take it Away, Listening, Sound Effects and Overdramatics, and I'm a Fake because they were more like the first album from the Used. good review, btw.This Message Edited On 05.13.06

i have just listen the cd n i love it so much

I tried to read all the previous comments on this cd, but most of them seemed so illiterate that they might of well have just smashed keys on the keyboard and clicked submit.

The problem with "In Love and Death" is that The Used didn't need to work for it. Before they got picked up for their first album, they were all broke and doing anything they could to make it as musicians, I even heard that Burt would end up puking from screaming his guts out and they would ussally get banned from each venue because of that. Now they are given too much money and too much recording time. The whole album is way over-produced.This Message Edited On 06.09.06

I agree this album does sound somewhat more pop like. I've noticed at school that the preps were wereing the shirts with the life and death tree on it, but in pink and stuff. Dammit. But anyways I liked it. Not as good as the first though. This album is a little too melow for me, I can't go crazy with any of it except for tracks 1 and 9.

yup this album is not as good as the first one ...but i agree im a fake is a great song and it stands out alot on this album.

box of sharp objects isn't on this album. you're thinking of their self titled with that song.

I think this album is amazing at times, however, the odd track here and there just brings it down a bit. In my opinion, "Listening" and "I'm A Fake" are just about as good as you can get in this genre.

Pretty disappointing album, I liked the self titled so much....

I agree, the first was so much better, im afraid this will appeal to 14 year olds who cant stop writing dark poetry n feeling sorry for themselves, there comes a time when you have to mature (eg: Story of the Year- In the wake od Determination) Either keep it grittier like the debut, or step above it and change ur style to something a little more suited to a wider rock audience, please dont giv these kids any more reasons to grow a big fuked up fringe. Thats all i ask!!
