Might buy it once I get paid again so I can still try to support the band though.

I just looked it up and I can really only find a Youtube stream. No digital downloads on amazon or their bandcamp. Don't see the torrent on any of the sites I "trust" using.

"I am not big on the separate the artist from the art logic. If whoever does something fucked up, I'd rather not pay to: watch their movies, listen to their music, use their products, etc."

for me, it's hard to grasp this logic. if you filtered your enjoyment of things based on the person behind their creation, there would likely be A LOT of things you'd have to stop enjoying. i don't look down on people for doing it, it's just difficult for me to understand, but then morals seem somewhat arbitrary at times, to me.

I agree with you but kid diddlin is pretty extreme on that spectrum so I can see why people wouldn't want the dude getting a cent.

I def don't look into reasons to not enjoy stuff. I also don't spend a ton of time thinking if I should keep enjoying something or not when I do hear something negative about someone. It's usually kind of a split decision and after enough time passes I might go back to it. Brand New was an example of that, for me. I didn't get the urge to get or listen to Science Fiction until it was out for over a year, whereas I generally would buy their album release week.

Another example, I don't really want to watch or rewatch any Roman Polanski films cause of the stuff I have heard about him, and I don't watch any Louis CK stuff anymore either, but I was never really a big fan of either in the first place.

There's so much entertainment available out there. I really doubt I am missing out on anything I can't find a substitute of or something that is better in the long run. It's really hard to be a truly one of a kind thing anymore.

Lol, dude, it's pretty easy to decide that you don't want to support a dude who literally fucked a baby, or intoxicated and raped a bunch of women, or who tried to have his wife assassinated. I mean, if those are totally arbitrary standards to you then you've talked yourself into a nice little semantic hole where no moral, legal and ethical standards exist at all. Good luck being THAT guy.

On a related note, I'm okay for people being okay with Tim Lambesis because he did his time and the whole point of prison is rehabilitation and punishment, so the guy has, in the hypothetical eyes of society, paid his dues and deserves a second chance. But what Watkins has done is so transgressive that I don't think there is any way to rehabilitate and allow him to rejoin society, 40 year prison sentence or not. The guy deserves to be a social outcast for the rest of his life.

I mean to be fair there's also allegations against Jimmy Page, etc. but that hasn't stopped Led Zeppelin or other bands from being seen as classic. Hell the Scorpions published an album with CHILD PORN as its artwork and not a lot of people care.

yep, I think it was Virgin Killer. only fuss was when the UK government blocked the Wikipedia page about the album for containing the artwork, leading to the Streisand effect kicking in
