It's a shame I can only give this album 5 stars.

I don't think that this is that good, but it's probably one of the best metal albums that I have heard. The piano at the end of "The Leper Affinity" is the best part of the whole album. This Message Edited On 11.05.05

That's surely one of the albums GREAT parts, but if I had to pick the best part of the entire album, it would probably be the bluesy interlude in Bleak.

I'm madly in love with Harvest. Incredible track. The Leper Affinity and Dirge for November are also notable songs. Good album indeed.

That's interesting, because most people say that Dirge for November is the weakest part of the album.

I actually think that "Bleak" is the weakest song on the whole album.

This album got me into non-power metal. It's quite worrying that it isn't Opeth's best actually, given how good this is. Bleak isn't one of the best here, I'd agree.

Well, everyone has their own opinions. Bleaks is the song that got me into Blackwater Park and Opeth in general, so I have to love it.

And Med, why is it worrying?

That this album can be as good as it is, and still be beaten by several of their other albums. It must be quite depressing for bands who make this sort of music, I'd imagine.

I would feel really good about that, actually. I'd be like, "Hey, even my worst albums are considered to be better than just about every other band!"

Harvest is a nice touch to the album, but there are other songs that are more diverse and impressive - like Bleak and BWP.

And Patterns in the Ivy I. Oh, how I wish that song was longer.

Most people talk about how good Bleak is, but I could never get into it.

The Leper Affinity is pretty damn amazing, man. The guitar solo in the middle always gets me, and it's one of the album's best parts.

The title track is better. And perhaps The Drapery Falls, too.

Good times.

Yes, good times indeed. I can't really pick a "best" song off of the album, because I'll have certain moods in which I feel like listening to a different song. I win every time.

I'm a Bleak fanboy :D Love it. That blues interlude is stunning. Harvest is also killer. Actually, this whole album is just insanely awesome. Better than Ghost Reveries by quite a bit, and I love GR.

Listened to this album before and after school today. Bleak is a total aural orgasm. The title track has to be one of the most epic Opeth songs ever. This Message Edited On 11.24.05
