Fall Children:
This song really sets the pace for the CD. Read the lyrics and you can tell the deep emotion flowing through the song. It starts off with a cool guitar piece, cymbal roll. Then it explodes into some real punk-rock stuff. The chorus is pretty interesting, ending with a classic AFI yell from Davey. Another quick verse, a chorus, then they get kind of quiet. Davey does this, "I know!" thing. Then he yells the title of the song and they play the chorus again. Very interesting. It ends with some bells playing an eerie tune.
Halloween:
This is a cover song, originally by the Misfits. It starts off with a Third Season style intro, just an echo from the guitar. Drums come in and Davey and Hunter explode. Between the 1st verse and the chours the guitar and bass play a few good power chords, they do the chours, another verse. The verses sound alot alike though. After the second chorus they break into silence and you hear crappy piano playing and the sound of gym shoes across a gym floor.
The Boy Who Destroyed The World:
This song is awesome, one of my personal favorites. It starts off with a really fast drum solo, then everyone except Davey joins in. Davey starts singing about a boy who had a glow, but lost it. The guitar does this echo-fade thing, then Adam comes in with a really fast snare drum beat. They do a chorus, good backround vocals, very good. After the second chorus they do an outro which ends with the sound of rain, i might've been dreaming, but i believe i heard sobbing in the backround. Try to play THIS one on the drums to give your arms a workout.
Totalimmortal:
This is one of the songs that gave AFI a lot of it's popularity when it appeared on the soundtrack to Me, Myself, and Irene. This song begins with the sound of rain from the last song and a quick snare drum hit. The guitar and bass come in doing a really fast pace. You can tell just by listening to the first 20 seconds that it's a good outro song. Davey comes in with a good yell. He says a line then backround vocals come in. They sing a little bit. Then Hunter says some really moody lines, Davey accompanies him in a two part solo. Everything dies out and as the two are finishing their lyrics a few quick hits from Adam on the high-hats begin the chorus. A lot of ohh's from backround vocals and Davey's doing his classic scream/sing/yell thing. They do another verse, sounds a lot the same. Rolls on the snare from Adam and slides on the guitar from Jade. They do the chorus twice and then go into an outro to chorus. Davey does his whisper singing, then he yells with the backround vocals and they do the chorus twice more with some deep punk-roots. It ends quickly and the CD's over.
This CD is about 15 minutes long.
This CD is out of print, but many copies are still available.
This was one of their first, more gothic, ghost CD's.
ARTWORK:
The cover shows a tree made of ghosts, a black screeching cat, and a scarecrow with deep red eyes. In the distance you see a house, and hills. On the back you see the other side of the house and lots of gravestones. The ground is littered with spirits.
