Am I missing something? I listened to "Turquoise Hexagon Sun" and it bored the hell out of me, as well
as the two other songs I listened to.

Are there any up beat tracks, or are all of them ambient?

cjgone: that's a kind of weird criticism because this isn't really very ambient. turquoise hexagon sun is a song that sounds very samey if you just skip through it or absentmindedly play it in the background, but it changes as it goes. it's one of those things you appreciate more and more with repeat listens, and demi is absolutely right: this is an album that, for its atmosphere and progression alone, is meant to be experienced in its entirety.

You need to give Boards of Canada your full attention while listening, it isn't just background music. Not only do they deserve the respect of giving them your utmost attention, but like Gyro said, it does sound a little samey if you're just absent-mindedly (is that a word?) listening.

not really. the way this grew on me is by just putting it on in the background for a while and after like 5 or 6 listens it starts to really hit you

I loved Geogaddi instantly. Listened to this 3 times though and it hasn't got me the same way.

trying to like Boards of Canada is like trying to stop a hurricane by fanning and blowing it back into the ocean.

it either happens or it doesn't
