My first picture disc is arguably one of the greatest punk albums of all time - just arrived in the mail about an hour ago :D

R.I.P. Richey

I'm still amazed how a person can disappear from one day to another without leaving any trace. It's like, it's impossible to avoid people even in the middle of the desert to vanish like that.

Richey’s quality as a lyricist is obviously a given, but looking at the songs Nicky mostly wrote (Ifwhiteamerica and This is Yesterday) you could see the glimmer of his own genius that he’d tap into on post-Richey songs like A Design for Life and If You Tolerate This. Pretty underrated lyricist in his own right imo.

Also interesting that despite Richey having more reign on the lyrics on this album, there were at least those two aforementioned tracks where his contributions were minimal (from what I understand anyway)

Completely agreed, and he wrote a lot more stuff here than people give him credit for. Apparently he contributed to sections on Of Walking Abortion, Mausoleum, and Faster, on top of the ones you mentioned
