ok then you're saying that the lln bands are definition-wise bm but they're not because mayhem and darkthrone are the only two real bm bands.
makes sense.
but yeah this isn't black metal. shity "avant-garde"-packrat metal.

lol you're retarded ^. and hawks of course i'm serious. if it's symphonic, it ain't black metal. period. but just for fun, try and explain to me what IS black metal about this release. certainly not the production/atmosphere, the biggest trait of bm aside from ideology. go ahead, enlighten me.

@ ShoeSoup
Are Emperor bm or not?
In the Nightshade Eclipse is bm or not?
For me, the questions are rhetorical of course.
|

i'm retarded? you're the one who's been contradicting yourself for the past page about what is and is not black metal.

Uhhhh yeah the production and atmosphere are pretty much something that is black metal about this release. Plus if you don't see how the instruments and vocals are black metal then I don't know what to tell you.

lyrically, ideologically, and aesthetically this has VERY little in common with black metal. why do you insist on calling it such? if you could actually explain a reason instead of just making a pointless statement, i'd be impressed.

i like the lln.
do you consider black-punk black metal

Alright I can't take anything you say seriously now. Saying this isn't black metal is one thing, but saying Emperor isn't is a whole different topic. If you say that their demos and first two albums aren't black metal then I don't really know what you can call them because it's not symphonic dark metal as you say.

Who gives a shit what genre it is, just listen to it.
If you like it, good. If not, so what?

i totally agree with his point. i was just pointing out that this isn't black metal so that you don't sound like a retard when you actually talk to people who really know their metal

Pretty good album. My absolute favorites are To Thou Who Dwellest in the Night, Raudt Og Svart and Fall of Man.

for the record there is no such thing as "symphonic black metal"
that would be an oxymoron

"... "Fall Of Man". Garm's vocals on that song are the best in black metal"

It also has an incredible solo (!) by August
