this is a pretty solid album, more consistent that TBW. I'm glad they implemented a vocal mix, I've always liked vocal range in my metal. (See: At the Throne of Judgment)

Holy Symphony of War is the best IMO

Solid album, but dosn't really stand up to previoud release i reckon. It does sound in between their earlier stuff and TBW, but thats the problem, its hard to find any charcater in it.

Eh, kinda meh album. Some good riffs and the solos are vastly improved over their previous stuff, but there seems to be a lot of filler and boring riffs.

I think that "Ready For Salvation" is the best track here because it's the most original and interesting one on the album.

Excellent album but still missing a little something. They should get back to their old vocal style. The drum sound is terrible! but beside that it's an excellent album.
So they win this year finish metal contest.

Decent album after one listen. I will relisten to this again tonight. The keyboards and solos are the best part of this album.

This isn't really groudbreaking but I had a blast listening to it, and I think they did a good job of finding a middle ground between TBW and their older style.

Its a damn good review mate
Yeah Dakkon, i got high hopes for the new Skyfire cd. I just hope their new vocalist can deliver. I heard him on some demo's with a band called Mark: Black and it sounds like he's got the lungs for Skyfire

fuck amazon never fucking got this album. I've had it perordered for over a month and they STILL dont have it...fuck
Well, i stopped ordering it then and ordered Ihsahn's new album and pre-ordered Watershed in exchange. Does anybody know if I can find this anywhere else? It wasn't at virgin records when i went there...is up for downloading anywhere? I have heard it all via youtube (thus the rating) but want it on my itunes.
On to the album, it wasn't as amazing as i expected but its still damn good. I'd say it;s about on par with Swampsong, maybe a little better, but it's behind They Will Return and Swamlord.

Grew on me. This is a solid 4, and probably my third favorite from Kalmah. The title track, Holy Symphony of War, Wings of Blackening, and Outremer are the highlights to me.

i'll agree that its about on par with Swampsong, to me this is just a little more solid. Its really too hard for me to pick a favorite track right now, definetly the best out of the finnish trio this year.

This feels uninspired to me compared to their others, nothing really stands out to me. It's not bad, it's just not great.
Their first two are their best.
