Not a bad review dude, at least it wasn't another god damn track by track, you get mad props for that. I quite enjoy the album, and I totally agree with you on the lack of diversity displayed on this album though it still is a pretty good release.

This is possibly one of my favorite albums, and i'm not a fan boy

Brand new continues to be distinctively different with every album. I cannot trust Brand new however and i do not know if anything in the future will be tastefully different and delightful. However, thus far brand new is a very different band with great taste in style and unique ways of portraying fighting friendships and late night sex. I will respect them until they prove me wrong.

Wow at least in terms of every other crappy band like death cab and fall out boy brand isnt afraid of a little bit of feel good music that directly evvelops the mood of the song some of these people suprise me with their lack of intelligence but canyoning vocabulary

Death Cab are wonderful. Fall Out Boy may suck, but Death Cab are great.

Just from Sic Transit Gloria to Play Crack The Sky, this is a solid album, the only beef i had with it is the lack of musical accomplishment.

I think Brand New should honestly stick to the slow, stripped-down acoustic tracks. It's where they really shine. Simple but interesting. "Play Crack the Sky" has to be one of my favorite songs of all time. I never thought a pop-punk band would EVER release a song that I would look that highly upon. I am intrigued to see where their sound goes.

Brand New is THE most overrated pop-punk band ever. This album is NOT classic. It is NOT "brilliant". It's completely average in every single way. Jesse Lacey is an arrogant f*ck, Your Favorite Weapon sucked, and Deja is not in any way a "huge" leap in creativity... "Guernica", "Okay I Believe You", "Jaws Theme" and "Good To Know" are good songs though. 3/5 at best.

I compltetley loved the singles, but the acoustic songs sound like typical emo/pop-punk.

how exactly is jesse arogant?

He is not, i guess on this album he is bitter, most of it is about his GF shaggin someguy from TBS......
But diversity is mostly on the 1st album, but i enjoyed this album mellow and also the talent to kick u in the teeth with emotion, good stuff, just some songs maybe fillers? lets down the finish.

This album is far better than the last one. The first album is generic pop-punk 101 with the exception of Seventy Times Seven. This is something different, I have no idea why this is being rated lower on this site.. eesh.

I personally like Deja Entendu more than YFW. "Guernica" and "Me Vs. Maradona Vs. Elvis" are great songs.

Oooohhhh kkkkaaay....
Anyway, the album is fairly solid, I liked it like that guy^^ back when I was ten, but I have moved on. Its still not that bad, "Ok I believe You By My Tommy Gun Doesnt" or whatever its called is chill

Personally I like this album. This for me is the best Brand New album. Unlike Your Favourite Weapon, this album has more variety of songs. The lyrics are also as the review stated, more mature than the previous albums which is a good thing. I really recommend this album and it is really worth your money.
