Yeah I know but I've read that it also combines their previous work and that it still will feature keyboard/synths. But when it all comes down, I don't care if it's more black metal or more ambient. It's all about the vibe the album has.

Without a doubt, this is one of my favorites from Agalloch. If you like the atmosphere on this record, I would recommend the latest lp from Musk Ox. The vibe is comparable and definitely worth a listen. Also, check out the new compilation "Whom the moon a nightsong sings" from Prophecy Productions. That has an old Ulver song, a new Empyrium track and dark folk work from Vali, Orplid, Tenhi, Neun Welten and others.

This is the best Agalloch release, because here they don't try too hard to sound metal in order to appeal to teenage Opeth fans.
