audioslave is a good band, i liked their album, though im happy with the review score, it does drag on a bit after a while, but coshise is equal to bombtrack as an opener to an album.

I just saw the cochise video, and it's pretty good. Cornell goes pretty crazy in it. Then again, he is a pretty mad frontman.

And yeh, I am waiting for a new cd. I'm in Australia, so we'll prolly get it later than most. Anyone know any news about it. I heard they're writing the songs - like one a day or sumthin.

I dunno bout a new audioslave album

but

tomorrow a cd from Axis of Justice, a not for profit orginization founded by Tom Morello and Serj Tankian (SOAD) will be releasing a double cd (and a DVD??) featuring, among many others, Maynard James Keenan and Chris Cornell.

apparently the Axis of Justice thing is a pile of tosh from numerous reviewers.

it's all in vain now i guess, too.

the axis of justice cd is inconsistent as hell, it would work much better as just a movie like metallica did with some kinda monster
zack is working with dj shadow????

awesome....

yeah i also like soundgarden, ratm, but i just can't stand audioslave... i hate to say too mainstream, but that's all i can think of. they're too soft i think.

but i still love cornell's voice....
I promise everyone here that as talented as Zach De La Rocha is, he will never have another hit nor will you hear much about him in the future....unless he joins another lineup, aka a good band.

Being a huge Soundgarden fan i rushed out to buy this album. I brought it home listened to it, and flat out hated it. It collected dust on my cd rack for about 8 months before i decided to jam out to it on bass and try to transcribe it. The more i listened to it, it grew on me. Althought it's been said numerous times already, you have to look at it as a completely new band. I'm pretty sure everyone here would agree that it lacks the magic Rage and Soundgarden possessed. It just gives you a flat out stripped down album of guys making music you can rock too. Seriously, in a scene right now full of crappy pop punk, happy rock, ****ty hip hop, and god knows what....This is easily the best hard rock album i've heard in years. They're not going to give you anything utterly groundbreaking. They will give you something we have little of right now: Real Rock

I quite like this album. I think it gets a lot of undeserved shit, mainly from the RATM fans. It's not brilliant... but it's awesome as far modern mainstream rock albums go.

It's easily better than anything that RATM did after their first album.

apparently they are just adding vocals to about 23 tracks they have laid down, then from there they will select what to go on the second album.
You have absolutely no idea who DJ Shadow is, do you?
I wouldn't say that if i didn't know who dj shadow was. I really like both De La Rocha and Shadow, but i don't think they'll ever be as big commerically as Audioslave.

I agree this album does get alot of undeserved ****, mainly from RATM fans. I think Soundgarden fans can appreciate it a bit more. Rage lost alot of heart after Battle of Los Angeles.

Well, im suprised you all hold such a grudge towards the band. The only ones calling it bad at all are the ones who like RATM. THe thing is, they arent even in the same area of rock. RATM was political punk rock, and auidoslave holds more o the grunge feel. If you all can actually grasp the concept of different styles youd understand that Audioslave isnt a bad band. They are one of the few new bands that can play. Not only that, but they themselves stated the frist album was rushed and not up to their full potential. Before you blast Audioslave know waht your talking about. Different styles doesnt necessarily mean that its a battle of good music and bad music.

Remember, opinions arent facts, if you dont like it, it doesnt mean thats how everyone else feels nor does it mean they suck.

Not a terrible review but not particularly great either. For instance:

"Cornell's vocals are raw and emotional. He sings with passion, and emotion. "

You basicallly just repeat the same thing, all in one sentence. You seem to do that a lot. Also, although I generally get the feel that you like the album, I'm not exactly sure what kind of people should buy the album after reading the review. However, it did make me think more of Audioslave so maybe I'l check into it mroe thoroughly.

Anyway, decent job.

I would give this album a 3/5. It's pretty mediocre but I think that they will have potential once the refine there sound together a little more. You can listen to their new single on their website. Seems pretty good. Again nothing special but I think there new album may have more to offer than this one.

Album Rating: 4.0

Right.

Ratm wasnt that brilliant but ok, soundgarden were excellent. Audioslave are bloody fantastic as the cornell is much better in vocals then de la rocha. So therefore u get an excellent vocalist with brilliant ratm musicians. Album is brilliant, the 2 other bands at the past, this band is the real deal.
