I'm sure there are many things far worse than sitting here attempting to do devil horns via the keyboard but right now they pale into insiginificance...would it suffce that I am here listening to Dismember banging my head to (probably)unhealthy proportions?

Anyways, my point is, and always has been, that Dismember is pretty much the only Swedish death metal band I care about at this point.
What about Dark Tranquility? You have to give them some credit!
Anyways, I loved the intro (and anyone that bitches about it, your only giving in to Cokes cruel ways of making people whine) and the rest of the review was entertaining to read as well. It was almost a different approach to a TBT which worked out well!
I have never listened to these guys before and I think I should get right on that before I get flamed!

I don't have to give Dark Tranquillity shit. They're solid enough but pale in comparison to Dismember. And I don't care about them, I barely like Character at this point and everything else is mediocre
I didn't really approach it as a tbt...i mentioned 7 of 11 songs.

What's with all these negative comments? Please shut up about crappy bands that are mentioned in the review and discuss Dismember.
Good review Tyler, I think you did the album justice. It's good for sure. I agree with the rating. This Message Edited On 02.19.08

So far this sounds like nothing unique at all, but it's crunchy and crushing.

It doesn't need to sound unique because it's Dismember. They're the only band doing this sound and doing it well and they've been doing it like this for almost 20 years.

The opening paragraph didn't really make me mad, I already knew you hated Slaughter of the Soul. But it doesn't really add much to the review at all.

He's saying that Dismember is the only swedeath band that matters and explaining why by bashing stuff he doesn't like. I'd say that adds to the review.

You might as well just say that Dismember is the only Swedish death metal band you like and move the fuck on. Yeah, I like the albums you bashed, but it seems pretty unnecessary to me.

and move the **** on. yeah thor, why don't you?

His jokes are more welcomed than babyish whining. And he's been posting reviews too, tbhftwfyi

Oh shit that's right I forgot, Tyler's word is law.

I like how Thor complains about the intro being 'unecessary,' but then goes on to make several redundant and angsty posts.

I thought this album got its release date pushed back to March

Nice review, I've been looking into this band for a while. I need to expand my death metal.

Fair enough hahaha!

This is obviously apparent!

What's pretentious about it?
Well considering the amount of respect In Flames tend to garner from the metal community, the fact that you immediately alienate that slice of your likely audience could be considered pretentious.
Please note that I tend to agree with you, btw.
Aaand I need to hear these guys. Good review.
