is Load really worth looking into?? I have heard that it is about as bad as st'anger. But on the other hand, Phantom, you have a good taste in music so maybe I should give it a go.

I wouldn't say it was amazing. It's the same style as on here but with better songs and probably ranks just above St. Anger too. All three albums are definitely Metallica's weakest material though. If they'd combined the good songs from Reload and Load into one album it probably would've been a more decent album.

ok, I guess I can give Load a go when i'm not busy (which in the moment I am). Who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised

Don't expect miracles and certainly don't put it above any other stuff you're planning to listen to. =P

But you will probably find a few songs that you like on it. Bleeding Me, King Nothing, Hero Of The Day and the Outlaw Torn are decent tracks. Particularly the latter.

The songs on Load are generally shorter too, on this they´ve done a pretty good job at creating lengthy fillers

Oh yes, Bleeding Me and The Outlaw Torn are awsome epics (the latter being kinda creepy)... King Nothing and Ain´t My Bitch are also worth mentioning

No probably about it: Load + ReLoad - filler songs = Killer Hard Rock album

naah they are best called just metal. Albums past their self-titled are pretty far from thrash, but also pretty far from hard rock

Imo it would have only been an EP's worth of material that way.

They're not exactly metal, the heavy blues influence brings the metalness down a peg. Ask around Sputnik and this is the estimated results:
Question: Is the Load-era Metallica still metal.
Answers: 50% No, Hard rock
1% Yup, Mehtuhl!!!
49% Moar liek Load of crap, amirite???!!!

if they'd combined the albums and only included about 10 tracks this would be 4-4.5 imo.

^ Definitely the first five songs off both albums would be okay

But it doesn't make the metal go away. Also the riffs are 75% metal. I agree on the blues influence, but this is still pretty metal to me.

They should have just shortened everything. My problem with this and Load is Metallica thinks they could write Master of Puppets when another Black Album would have worked better.

^ Somehow I doubt they were going for another MoP here
