Whole album is solid but if we’re being honest I only ever listen to the title track, John Wayne, Chicago, and Predatory Wasp.

Chicago is one of my all time favorite songs.

The more uptempo tracks on here felt alot more interesting than on Michigan which didn't really pull me in much. It's with most of Sufjan's work that you're ought to be caught in the right sentiment, i presume.

The Black Hawk War is an underrated track. So is Decatur. And you can’t forget Casimir Pulaski Day. Add the tracks Boney mentioned, and that’s what I come back to.

Definitely some filler on this record but the highs are magnificent.

Steven A. Douglas was a great debater

But Abraham Lincoln was the great emancipator !

The fuck, the only filler here are the interludes, but they give the album a more grandiose feeling.

Concerning the UFO Sighting, Jacksonville, The Man of Metropolis, They Are Night Zombies, The Seer's Tower, The Tallest Man, and Out of Egypt are all so good as well the tracks listed above. Can't imagine not listening to this after Predatory Wasp.

The Tallest Man is such an outstanding song and Egypt gives me a hypnotic Steve Reich esque outro, but to each their own

In all honesty I probably should give those last two songs a spin in isolation, maybe that'll do the trick
