Mm, I think Premier's work on this is excellent. True, he has done better, Gang Starr's Moment of Truth comes to mind, but I still think it's top notch. This Message Edited On 06.01.07

the beat in "Life's a Bitch" doesn't fit the song at all and is way too light

a large majority of the choruses on this album suck

marginOwalker has it right.

Greatest rap album of all time, bar none, only Ready to Die and a few select others even challenge it.

And I would also go out on a limb and say memory lane is the greatest rap song I've ever heard

This album is great no doubt. Every song here is awesome. My favs are: 1. The World is Yours, 2. Memory Lane, 3. NY State of Mind, 4. Represent, 5. It Ain't Hard to Tell, 6. Life's a Bitch, 7. One Love, 8. Halftime, 9. One Time 4 Your Mind. The only average song is One Time 4 Your Mind. 5/5 no doubt.

Out of all the hip hop albums I've heard, I still think this is the greatest out of all of them. This has the importance of the same as metallica's "master of puppets" because they both stay true to the music while upping the bar to an all time high.

I've tried to get into this album and rap in general, but I just can't. I think it's because rap in general has more to do with the lyrics than anything else and since I'm not black I don't connect with it
