Because this isn't Swallow the Sun........

By that, it's meant that there aren't enough albums/bands to bother making it into a seperate genre.
Thank you for the clarification! I was right in my assumption!

You seem to be under the impression that just because you find this boring, everyone else does as well. To be frank, this is miles ahead of anything Swallow the Sun have ever done.

Whenever I start to feel like I'm having a good day I put this on and it immediately brings me back down to earth.
Haha but seriously this album is awesome.
|
| |
Most definitely. It's one brooding piece of music.

If Ahab is dark matter heavy, this is bottomless pit deep...

Yeah, I really like the use of bells on that track. Pharos implements them really well.

This is oppressively hypnotizing. I love it.

To anyone who is interested in the concept/story behind Dooom, light has been shed:

ME! ME! I'm interested *copy/pastes link*
I heard the general deal, that the band's leader(?) killed himself. Poor dude.
|
| |
yeah. The review on the link has details on what the actual story is about. The CD of Dooom unfolds revealing a whole bunch of awesome pictures which complement the story told through the lyrics. Apparently the story behind Dooom is linked to that of Last CD Before Doomsday.

Well thought out concept albums (like Opeth's MAYH and Still Life, yeah you know 'em, you love 'em lol) tend to decimate.
|
| |
yeah, there's nothing I like more than a good concept. It makes the whole experience worthwhile.
|
| |
I'm still listening to this :D It's brilliant
|

just found a funny quote made by Pharos:
I think Worship is actually pop music, at 1/10 speed, two octaves down, with extreme guitars and vocals, then shredded in serious kitchen machinery and served with a touch of peppermint.
I'm considering squeezing it somewhere into the review, but I'm unsure of where. Any suggestions?

That's what I was thinking too. Whereabouts though? My initial reaction was to just stick it onto the end, but if you have a better idea please tell me.
