MAINSTREAM BULLSHIT
Most of this is pretty much just nostalgia to me now because it was basically the soundtrack to the best summer I've had. This Message Edited On 01.30.08

A track by track for a double disc.....Didn't make it to the end... I'd rather listen to the album your describing in your review than read the whole thing...
|
| |
I've never listened to this album in full because it bores me to tears, so technically i can't quite rate it, but yea.
|
| |
To be honest, this review completely made me think of a butthurt emo kid whining about his favorite band changing their sound just a tiny bit.
|
| |
I thought he did decent describing the songs, though this shouldn't of been a TBT, even with the whining the review isn't horrible IMO.
|
| |
What I've heard from this is good.

I will do a review of Radiohead's Kid A in your style of writing:
THIS DOES NOT SOUND LIKE OK COMPUTER. RADIOHEAD CHANGED THEIR SOUND HOW DARE THEY. THEY MUST MAKE THE SAME ALBUM WITH THE SAME TYPES OF SONGS. BAD RADIOHEAD.
Everything in Its Right Place- BORING, NOT LIKE THEIR OTHER STUFF
Kid A- WEIRD, NOT LIKE OTHER STUFF
National Anthem- LONG, WEIRD, BAD RADIOHEAD, BAD!!
How to Disappear Completely- SLOW, TOO SLOW, I NEED FAST, BAD RADIOHEAD!!
Treefingers- NOT EVEN A SONG, WHAT THE HECK.
Optimistic- ALRITE BUT STILL BAD BECAUSE ITS NOT KARMA POLICE
In Limbo- UHH....BAD!!
Idioteque- NOT LIKE THEIR EARLY STUFF WHICH AUTOMATICALLY MAKES IT BAD
Morning Bell- I'M GETTING TIRED OF MY OWN TRACK BY TRACK...
Motion Picture Soundtrack- GWARGH!!!!!!
(collapses)

no, way way way too harsh. You nit picking everything and you have to review it by genre. You dont review a punk album with a metal mind set. This album was too long and cheesy, but still full of quality.

True buddy this album is a-grade poo. i can garner a couple of listens with Especially In Michigan and So Much I, but i do agree with your stance on this, they cant't really be fucked making good music because they know retard teenyboppers (and there is a lot of them) are gonna buy it, no matter what.
and the review, might have been easier not doing a track-by-track for a 2 disc album, but either way, kudos.

^Please tell you didn't just call RHCP "teeny bopper music".
Please, just tell me that was a joke.

While I think this album is terrible and quite boring, I disagree. I think By the Way was great and their best release.

Well it still displays some quality musicianship. I wouldn't call this "teenybopper," just
extremely mainstream. This Message Edited On 01.30.08

Wow, this album is pretty darn good. Its quite consistent and i was surprised that they could pull off a double album so well.

this entire review is a great metaphor for the album.
it boggles the mind trying to conceive how the idea of a t-b-t for a double CD seemed ok, especially throughout the epic writing and editing period.
i didn't neg because i couldn't be bothered.
|

Haha i love this review.
